PLCs, Homecoming Week and PBIS

 Staff,

This week is Homecoming Spirit Week, and we have a couple ways we are celebrating. The Spirit Bus will be here on Wednesday, September 27th at 9:35am on our playground. Students and staff are invited to wear navy and blue on this day. Then on Friday feel free to wear Raider or your favorite team gear. PLCs focused on literacy are beginning, and here are the initial thoughts for grade level areas of focus:

• K:  Phonics and using the assessments within From Phonics to Reading
• 1st: Utilizing the LETRS screener to analyze the data and action plan
• 2nd: Filling gaps regarding what student don't know in this first year of From Phonics to Reading implementation
• 3rd:  Utilizing the LETRS screener to develop a plan
•  4th:  RF 4.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words
• 5th: Determining students' biggest area of need through analyzing the LETRS screener and their writing

At our next staff meeting on October 3rd, we will discuss chapter 5: Movement in Healthy Teachers, Happy Classrooms, in case you want to get a headstart on the reading. Our building PBIS focus for this week is Bathrooms. Below are the expectations you can reinforce with your students.
