Welcome Back
Staff,
Welcome back from spring break, a reminder on our Neurodivergent Week activities this week. Here is the calendar of events and dress up days. Also on Wednesday we have a staff meeting, please read Chapter 7: Calm from Healthy Teachers, Happy Classrooms in preparation for the meeting.
Also as we head into the spring season, it is the time of year when grade levels begin to attend more field trips. Here are the reminders for classroom teachers to inform our health office, so students have what they need medically, while off of school grounds. Thanks!
Five Steps to Implement for Day Field Trips:
special needs is leaving the building for a field trip, whether walking or busing, to allow adequate time
to make appropriate plans/accommodations.
2. The Health Office must be notified at least five (5) school days in advance of a day field trip to make the appropriate arrangements for administration of medication. (Appropriate practitioner and parent/legal
guardian forms would be on file).
3. An employee or volunteer designated by the School Nurse to administer medication is required to
consult with the School Nurse at least five (5) school days in advance of a day field trip to determine the
required DPI written and skill training. Emergency and non-oral medications require additional skills
check-off training with the School Nurse. The School Nurse determines if any nursing delegation rules
would apply.
