7 Mindsets

I wanted to use my blog this week to update you on the 7 Mindsets SEL curriculum. Elementary counselors and principals met with consultant Kirk Jones on Friday, and I hope you all are excited about the possibilities of 7 Mindsets as the counselors, principals and Student Services are. With this being said, we also want to reassure staff that this will be a soft roll out this year with support coming from Student Services with a scope and sequence document linked here. Once you have logged into the 7 Mindsets portal for the first time, the scope and sequence referenced lesson will link right back to the portal to assist you with planning and organization. It is recommended in spending about 1/2 hour on the 7 mindset lesson assigned for that week. This can be one single half hour session, or 10 minutes, three times a week. During PLC time, we will talk about what type of implementation makes the most sense for each grade level with a start date during the week of November 1st.
