Thanks for a Great First Week

 EP Rock,

Thank you for a great first great week of school which included five full school days for grades first-fifth. I so appreciate all the hands on deck to make sure we transitioned students back to school safely, whether it was our first-fifth graders and Monday, our four year olds on Tuesday or Kindergarteners on Thursday. 

Based on the board approved mask matrix: EP Rock students, staff and visitors will be required to wear masks this week. Every Friday we will get a district email regarding the status for the following week:  masking recommended or masking required. Those of you new to EP Rock, staff last year used their grade level/classroom recess as a way to get a mask break in for students. Masks will not be required while students are outside during recess or outside with their teachers. Tomorrow, I will give you more of an update once I know if there are any changes in practices from last year to this year. There will be masks in the office for students who need them. 

Tomorrow during grade level PLC times, we will utilize the following protocol (hard copies are in SMART Team members mailboxes) to come up with the norms to support your team functioning at high levels. Your norms will be recorded in your electronic PLC notebook found in class link, in the EP Rock Tile under PLC Notebook EP. The categories of norming items are as follows:  time, listening, confidentiality, decision making, participation and the process for checking on norms.
