Updates for the Week

EP Rock Staff:

As we get back into our PLCs this week after two weeks of conferences, the focus will be utilizing the assessment summary with one of your guided reading groups. If you have already started using this with a group you can build on your previous work. You may also be starting to use it for the first time with a group. By the end of the year, I'd like teachers to feel confident with returning to this summary monthly for one group. Moving forward with our common planning time for the remainder of the year, they will be focused on your Jan Richardson guided reading planning. We will no longer alternate between math and reading. Instead I will bring math PLC time into staff meetings like I am doing this week.

At our Wednesday staff meeting, Buildings and Grounds will be updating staff on our new electronic work order process, followed by Amanda McCarthy reviewing some Illuminate math reports that can help you with your second trimester report cards. If you have a recently completed math unit assessment, feel free to bring the data to this meeting, because you may have time to input your scores.

Finally on Friday, building principals and Teaching and Learning have tried to build a schedule to be more personalized for teachers. It includes some fun to start the morning, as well as work time throughout the day for teachers to choose from their current biggest area of need. During our Friday morning staff meeting, there will also be Jan Richardson planning time set aside after some Yahtzee and our next Love and Logic strategies, so bring your resources to plan. Here's our schedule for the day.

Support staff who would like to attend the Friday staff meeting from 8am-9:30am may clock in on Skyward and do so. Also support staff who help proctor the Forward Exam can stay through 11:00am, because we will be covering this from 10-11am.
