Guided Reading Update

As you know, during the second half of January, we have our third professional development around Jan Richardson guided reading with our consultant Carolyn Gwinn: K/3rd January 22nd, 1st/4th January 28 and 2nd/5th January 30. I will be moving the start of my guided reading fidelity checks back a little bit later in January. I want to wait until your grade level completes its January PD so you have more learning and support prior to my visits. To help me with coming to your classrooms at the right time for guided reading, I'd like all teachers of guided reading to fill in the start time of their guided reading groups. Please use the link below to share this information with me prior to your January 1/2 day PD date. Thanks!
After your grade level's 1/2 day professional development, Paula will also be reaching out to schedule the second round of coaching around guided reading.

- Lesson planning meeting with Paula where you decide on the area of focus where you'll want feedback from her.
- Paula observing your guided reading lesson.
- A debriefing meeting where Paula gives you feedback on the area of focus you decided on during your planning session.
* Between step one and two of the process, you can add an optional observation of Paula teaching a guided reading lesson, if that is still a need for you at this time.
