WI DPI Report Cards
Staff:
The Wisconsin DPI Report Cards are set to be released to the public on Tuesday, November 19th. Below is some information I was able to find to help us interpret our results. Here's a link once the results are available on Tuesday. All six of our elementary school had very good results on the 23-24 Report Cards.
Key Report Card Metrics The report cards include the following key metrics:
- Student achievement on state assessments in English language arts and math
- Student academic growth from one year to the next
- Chronic absenteeism rates
- Graduation rates
- College and career readiness measures
The report cards use a 0-100 point scale to provide an overall accountability score for each school and district. This score is then used to assign a rating of Significantly Exceeds Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, Meets Expectations, Fails to Meet Expectations, or Significantly Fails to Meet Expectations.
It's important to look beyond the overall score and examine the individual metric results. For example, a school may have high achievement scores but low student growth, indicating that while students are performing well, they may not be making sufficient progress year-over-year.
On Tuesday, SMART Team and I will dig more deeply into the four categories on the report card: student achievement, growth, target group outcomes and on-track for graduation.
