Coaching Around FPC/Guided Reading and the Golden Rule

Welcome Back to a New Year:

One of our collective commitments for the 21-22 school year was completing two coaching cycles in the area of literacy: FPC and/or guided reading. Below is the coaching cycle process when working with our instructional coach.

1. Lesson planning meeting with Lori where you decide on the area of focus you'll want feedback from her on.
2.  Lori observing your lesson.
3. A debriefing meeting where Lori gives you feedback on the area of focus you decided upon during your planning session.

      * Between step one and two of the process, you can add Lori teaching a literacy lesson with you observing her. 

During the month of January, the PBIS focus for elementary schools is the Golden Rule:  treat others the way you'd want to be treated. This aligns with our PBIS behavioral belief:  respect. Our PBIS Tier I team meets on Wednesday, and we will have bookmarks and stickers for all students. We are also connecting this theme to MLK Jr. Day on Monday, January 17th. The Golden Rule is a Hudson community initiative with the following mission: to promote civility and understanding in our daily interactions by encouraging the practice of the Golden Rule throughout greater Hudson.
