Thanksgiving Week

I wish you all a wonderful week with people close to you. I am very grateful to you all, and your passionate work on behalf of our students, as well as your support for one another. Remember that the early release is set aside for you to work on data entry and your report cards. Teaching and Learning had some updates they wanted me to share with you regarding this.

A reminder as we come to the end of first trimester to be sure and enter the necessary grade-level data into Illuminate. Specifically, updated instructional reading levels, On-Demand Writing, Kndg Literacy, and grading the Constructed Response on your interim assessments (3-5). For your constructed response data, please recall that Amanda created a constructed response tile to more intuitively grade those questions. Attached is a guide with screenshots to assist you. If you have any questions, please contact your building coach. Thank you for recognizing the importance of using data to drive your instruction. 

Have a renewing Thanksgiving holiday. 

FYI, updated instructional reading levels should be based off of your informal assessments at this time:  running records, anecdotal notes, and where you currently have students placed in guided reading.  We will use this data during our next reading progress monitoring roll through in December to see how students are responding to core and Tier II instruction. 

When you return from Thanksgiving Break, I have cancelled our staff meeting on Wednesday, December 4th. Please use this time for your most urgent work to prepare for your students.
